Salt Company is the college ministry of Mercy Hill, a church located in Cincinnati. For the past year, I have had the privilege of designing apparel, creating a visual identity, curating social media posts, and photographing events for the organization.

Apparel Concept Sketches

For the Salt Company 2023 Fall Kickoff, I was responsible for designing shirts and sweatshirts each student and staff member received.

After sketching out ideas, I took some of the designs into Adobe Illustrator and created a few new ones.

The leadership team chose the block-style “SALT!” design, so I provided a series of variations for them to choose from:

Later in the season, we decided to drop sweatshirts available for purchase. Going off of my “wavy” concept sketch, I developed various compositions for the back of the hoodie, utilizing warp and distortion tools.

Visual Identity

In creating guidelines for our back-to-school visual identity, I wanted to incorporate colors that maintained a fun summer vibe but also served as a good transition into fall. Additionally, I chose a typeface pairing that had fun, bold numbers for simple, eye-catching headings and easily readable body type.

Instagram Feed

I created a content calendar for the ten days leading up to our kickoff event, with two posts scheduled for each day: One being a clipart style video montage with a number as the cover and the other being a photo of members. As a result, a cohesive checkered grid formed on the homepage:
